First Principles is designed not only to be learned individually, but practiced in community. Use these discussion questions after the teaching, in a small group, home group, or Bible study.
You don’t have to cover every question. Take time to listen to one another, share what God is teaching you, and encourage each other to put His Word into practice.

Discussion Questions
- What stood out to you most from the teaching, and why?
- Which type of dead work—religious, performative, or faithless—do you most recognize in your own life? What might it look like to turn from it?
- Jesus said, “Apart from Me you can do nothing.” What is one area where you need to stop striving and begin abiding in Christ?
Close in Prayer
Take a few minutes to pray for one another. Ask God to reveal any dead works you are relying on and to help you turn toward Him in faith. Pray for grace to stop striving, remain in Christ, and allow His life to produce fruit through you.
